WHOIS Privacy

Your contact information for your domain is required to be publicly available via the WHOIS Database. While this is a necessary way to ensure that domain owners can be contacted for legitimate reasons, and all such databases require their users to agree to their Acceptable Use Policy, this information is used by many organizations as a source of email addresses to put on their spam mailing lists.

In addition to our Anti-Spam Service, Regzilla offers WHOIS Privacy Service to hide your contact information from those who merely want to use it to send you spam. WHOIS Privacy Service puts a layer of privacy between you and the Internet, while still meeting all the ICANN requirements that people be able to contact you for legitimate purposes.

WHOIS Privacy Service costs $5.00 per year.

WHOIS Privacy Service is available for .com, .net, .org, .info, .name, .biz, .cc and .tv domain names.

Customers may purchase Privacy Service for any term between 1 and 10 years, on a per-domain basis.

The expiry date of the domain name does not have to match the expiry date of the WHOIS service. Once the service expires, your information will once again be displayed in the WHOIS database.

1. When WHOIS Privacy is purchased for a domain name, confirmation email is sent to the domain's Administrative Contact. The contact has 10 days to confirm the purchase, or the service will not be enabled.
2. Once confirmed, the domain's information is changed to that of the WHOIS Privacy Service (see Record Information below).
3. All inquiries for the WHOIS information of a protected domain that are sent via telephone or email are directed to visit a web-based request form. Inquiries sent by registered mail are scanned, and then forwarded to the Registrant via email.
4. Requests are then sent to the Registrant, who is free to respond to or ignore the inquiry.

Record Information

Regzilla uses Tucow's WHOIS Privacy Service to protect your domain's contact information. Each domain name protected by WHOIS Privacy Service will contain the following information, as mandated by ICANN. The service uses Tucows' mailing address, as an administrative address is required.
